On the other, less than ten metres away, a residential estate whose occupants need to be protected from the dangers of a working construction site if the entrance wasn’t controlled.

The site had been managing the situation with manned security. It kept the entrance covered, but manned security carries a cost that compounds over the length of a build, and on a site where the entrance and exit points were shifting regularly as the build progressed, it wasn’t a sustainable long-term answer.
The SOSEC 200 V2 was installed at the single entrance point, controlled by intercom. Off-grid and solar-powered, it needed no mains connection and no infrastructure investment at a location that was likely to change. When the entrance does move, the crew can reposition it in minutes.
