Intercom system - where is this relayed to?: The intercom can call the 'gate-keepers' mobile phone, if they're engaged, then the intercom will triage to 2 other numbers. If you can advise telephone numbers per site, we can pre-programme these for you. There is also the additional feature of the 'dial-to-open'. This simply means that employees can have their numbers programmed onto the SIM, so that employees can call the gate, and it will automatically open for them, without having to get out of their vehicle to press the entrance keypad code. We can easily add and remove numbers remotely for you. There is also a timer option, so we can programme the barrier to remain open at specific times of the day.

Do the solar panels require regular maintenance?: No. We use commercial-grade, rugged monocrystalline solar panels. Maintenance is minimal and generally restricted to occasionally giving them a quick wipe to clear away any thick mud and/or snow.
How easy is this to move along the site as new areas are released?: We have designed the barrier to be mobile, and to move as the building works progress. There are skids in the base, so that a fork truck or telehandler can easily move the unit. Please note when we set up the barrier, we ensure that the solar panel is positioned to face South. There are YouTube video's on how to transport the barrier safely - if the unit was moving to a different site, then we can quote for a site move which would include removal of solar panel and boom for safe transportation and include training of new site personnel.
How long does it take to set up an INSTABOOM™ or SOSEC barrier?: They are built for almost instant deployment. The INSTABOOM™ can be rolled into position and be put to work within minutes. SOSEC barriers come complete with a steel platform and can be dropped directly into place using a forklift. They can be moved as the access points move.
What does the base need to be placed on?: We just need a level surface of hardcore to place the base on.

Do SOSEC solar barriers work at night?: They are designed to open up to 900 openings per day, even during the darkest, dullest day of a British winter. They hold enough charge to operate for a number of weeks with zero solar input.

Are SG barriers compliant with UK safety regulations?: Yes. Every unit is UKCA/CE marked and fully compliant with Government HSE regulations for powered gates. They are force tested to BS EN 12445 and meet British gate safety standards (DHF TS011).
