Solar Gates and SRL Traffic Systems, the UK and RoI’s largest manufacturer and supplier of portable and temporary ITS equipment, have signed a partnership agreement, extending SRL's portfolio of products designed to promote work zone safety.
INSTABOOM solar/hybrid instant work zone protection barriers are a safer and more cost-efficient alternative to the traditional plastic barriers staffed by dedicated gate people and may now be hired from SRL.
A well-established product on work zones throughout the UK, including SMART motorways and HS2 projects, INSTABOOM can be remotely operated and monitored by personnel with multiple responsibilities from elsewhere on site, away from oncoming traffic.
The deal between the firms also allows SRL to exclusively offer the INSTABOOM Lite, launched in the summer, for use on short duration operations, including those on rugged terrain. INSTABOOM Lite is now fully customised for SRL's standard trailers, allowing rapid deployment and is fully compatible with wireless GS6 height detection kits, and so can offer GS6 over-height hazard protection.

INSTABOOM barriers are the only mobile, solar barriers in the market to meet the stringent BS/EN 13241-1 safety standards for gates, barriers and doors as well as being UKCA marked. With Solar Gates’ extensive experience around DHF and Gate Safe standards, they ensure all their barriers are fully safe and compliant.
Established in 1997, SRL offers a portfolio that includes VMS, CCTV and traffic and pedestrian signals and its products are available for sale and hire. The company has ISO accreditations 9001 (quality management), 14001 (environmental management) and 45001 (occupational health and safety).
